New Plymouth is a vibrant city, the main centre in Taranaki Province, and is dominated by the Tasman Sea, and Mt. Egmont/Taranaki, from which we take our motel name.
There are many attractions and events that make New Plymouth an exciting destination.
Pukekura Park
Pukekura Park is beautiful all year round. In the summer it is lit up in the evenings during the Festival of Lights, also offering free live entertainment in stunning surroundings. The fernery with connecting earth tunnels, and displays of exotic plants including a colourful begonia house is not to be missed. Children love the spacious playground.

Coastal Walkway
The Coastal Walkway runs for 8 kilometres along the seafront, and is suitable for everyone to enjoy. It is mostly flat and is enjoyed by walkers, runners, and cyclists. Mobility scooters are available for hire.
